KEVIN LANNON

Kevin earned his Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Illinois, and a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction from National Louis University. He holds both Learning Behavior Specialist I and Learning Behavior Specialist II endorsements on his professional teaching license, enabling Kevin to work with students with special and behavioral needs. As an ADHD-Certified Educator, Kevin has a demonstrated track record of advocating for students’ needs and working hard to make sure his students’ voices are heard.

Kevin has a wide variety of professional experience in the educational field, including working as a public high school classroom teacher, a case manager, and a student advocate in both public and private therapeutic day schools. Kevin has worked in specialized programs for students with behavioral and emotional concerns for many years, supporting clients in both general and special education populations. He is skilled at working with students with ASD and ADHD, and connects particularly well with middle schoolers and teenagers demonstrating school anxiety and/or school-refusal behaviors.

Kevin’s friendly demeanor and understanding approach help his clients to produce positive outcomes through a strong and connected coaching relationship. He firmly believes that all kids who can do well, will do well — those who struggle just need a more targeted approach in the areas that are currently challenging for them. As a coach and educator, Kevin actively works alongside his students to create organizational, self-monitoring, and task initiation strategies that work.

Beyond his professional work with students and their families, Kevin loves reading, exploring nature, and fostering dogs with his wife.
