Elizabeth Scruggs

After graduating from the University of Dayton, Elizabeth earned a Masters in Education from National Louis University and a Special Education and English Language Learner endorsement from North Park University. She received certification on emotional regulation with Dr. Marc Brackett from the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and executive functioning skills for anxious and disengaged learners from Sarah Ward from Cognitive Connections.

Elizabeth’s passion for educating the whole child shines through in both her teaching and coaching. Elizabeth spent most of her teaching career on the North Shore in Glenview Public Schools and District 112 in Highland Park before transitioning to full-time EF coaching. One of Elizabeth’s proudest professional accomplishments while working within the school system was creating a district-wide social, emotional, and behavioral program that she successfully helped implement with classroom lessons and support services. Elizabeth’s expertise in the field of special education and SEL helped her to guide hundreds of families in crafting 504 and IEPs.

Elizabeth holds executive functioning certification from the Rush Neurobehavioral Center. For fifteen years, she has been working to support clients with a wide range of needs such as Autism, ADHD, Prader Willis Syndrome, Epidermolysis Bullosa, and Executive Functioning Disorder (EFD). As an EF specialist, Elizabeth works equally well with children, teen, and adult clients. Her approach to supporting executive functioning development is rooted in the understanding that by helping individuals better navigate from within, clients learn to become their own best advocates.
