Katie Cohen

Katie Cohen has been in the field of education for the past 22 years. Katie’s experience working with students of various abilities and learning styles was honed as a long-time lead classroom teacher in Chicago Public Schools where she learned to successfully adapt academic curriculum to meet the needs of individual learners, and her many years as an EF coach have helped guide her understanding of how to to effectively serve those with executive functioning challenges.

Katie holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Colorado and a Masters of Education from DePaul University. She obtained executive functioning certification from the Rush Neurobehavioral Center in 2018 and was trained on executive functioning strategies to combat anxiety and increase student engagement with Sarah Ward, CCC/SLP.

Uniquely able to connect with teen and adult clients, Katie knows how to help learners get organized, manage project timelines, and reach academic & professional benchmarks. Her gift as a coach is in quickly identifying where a client is stuck and helping create an action plan which is tailored to the individual. As an EF specialist, Katie helps clients build the confidence necessary to independently problem solve and self-advocate.
